Then last week I was reading and came across this African saying, "If you think you are too small to make a difference, try spending the night in a closed room with a mosquito". I have to say at first it made me laugh, but then I thought how true that really is! I mean if God created something as small and "insignificant" as a mosquito to affect the world around it then He really must have a big plan for my life! So here are a couple things that I have mulled over for the last week or so:
First: It's not about the BIG things I can do for Him. It's about the little things!
Here is a quote from a "The Noticer" written by Andy Andrews that emphasized what God has been trying to show me:
"Your time on this earth is a gift to be used wisely. Don't squander your words or your thoughts. Consider that even the simplest actions you take for your lives matter beyond measure...and they matter forever."
Wow! So I was reminded that those times when I take an extra few moments that really don't take but a few blinks of the eye longer and do something that to me seems like nothing much, may make a huge impact on someone else! Whether I see the end result or not!
Second: It's not really me making a difference! Yes, you read that right! It may seem as if it's me, but really it's me allowing Christ to work through me! What a relief! So as long as I'm listening for that soft whisper in my heart to guide me "take a few extra minutes to talk to this young girl"..."listen to Berniece, she has words of wisdom"...whatever He is whispering, as long as I follow His leading...He can use me to impact this crazy world!!
Phillipians 2:13 "For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose."
Let Him use your life to make a difference!!!
